Since graduating in Fine Art at Lincoln University in 2002 I have focused my work on understanding how well I use and relate to time. The marks made and processes given have their own intimate moments with time and have a specific relationship to their space. "The rhythmic juxtaposition of related forms produces linear patterns which are similar to patterns and textures found in nature" * By developing methods to make work I create personal guidelines, setting boundaries / safe places. Working with adults with degrees of learning difficulties has re-enforced my understanding of why they develop methods and processes, creating their personal contol of process and outcome. I have created a number of workshops for schools and community projects which have involved people of all ages and abilities built on the participants' responces to the space and materials found. *Rotteger and Klante: Creative drawing: studies in texture; 1967 p.111 |
